1961 Topps baseball card (#578) signed on the front in vintage blue ink (grading “10”) by Mickey Mantle. This card dates from the historic 1961 season and appears to have been signed by Mantle during that year or shortly thereafter, as the signature is definitely of that approximate vintage. Mantle waged an epic home-run battle with teammate Roger Maris in 1961. Unfortunately, a late-season injury curtailed any chance he may have had at breaking Ruth’s single-season home run record and he finished the year with a career high fifty-four home runs. Mantle signed baseball cards have always been in high demand, especially those signed at the approximate time of issue. The card is in Excellent condition and has been encapsulated by PSA.
