Graded EX+ 70 by SGC. Extremely high grade example of this classic tobacco card of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb. The Green Background pose has long been considered the rarest of the four poses of Cobb in the T206 set. The offered example has flawless registration, perfect colors, clean both front and back (one insignificant light spot on reverse), centered slightly toward the left border, and with four square corners displaying just the slightest hint of wear (most easily seen on the upper left corner and lower left corner). This is an extremely attractive high-grade example of one of the key cards from the premier tobacco issue of the 1910 era. Sweet Caporal advertising on reverse. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000+. |
