Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. Presented is a very attractive technically mid-grade example of the rare O'Hara, St. Louis Americans T206 variation. Though graded only Vg-Ex, this is actually an extremely high-grade and particularly attractive example for this card. Polar Bear was the only company to issue the rare T206 O'Hara, St. Louis Americans variation card, and T206 Polar Bears are notorious for surviving in lesser grades than T206 cards with other advertising backs. This fact is directly related to how the cards were packaged with Polar Bear tobacco, without the protection from the tobacco provided to T206 cards issued with other brands. The offered card is very clean, with bold colors, a crisp image, even wear on the corners, a single corner crease in the lower left , and with a few very minor tobacco stains on the reverse. Superb eye-appeal! This is an extremely pleasing mid-grade example of one of the key significant (and in our opinion very underrated) rarities from the classic T206 White Border set.
