Graded EX 5 by PSA. Crisp, clean, very attractive mid-grade example of this classic tobacco card of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb. The Green Background pose has long been considered the rarest of the four poses of Cobb in the T206 set. Cobb's portrait contrasts sharply against the bold green background. Flawless registration, no creases, perfectly clean both front and back, centered 40/60 top to bottom, with light, even corner wear. Sweet Caporal reverse. This is a very strong and attractive example of one of the key cards from the premier tobacco issue of the 1910 era. SMR value is $4,750. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500++. |
