All T3 Turkey Red Proof cards which exist today first surfaced in the hobby in the mid 1970s. These cards came from a find directly from the family of the printer. When family members of the printer showed up at one of the very first card shows in New York City (which at the time was held at District Center 65) this cache of cards were immediately recognized as so special that they were given a table to display and sell cards from the find. Included were approximately seventy T3 Proof cards (all different and each unique) which over the years have long since been dispersed throughout the collecting world. This Bob Rhoades Proof is an extraordinary sample from this incredibly significant legendary hobby find. This card is perfectly crisp and clean, both front and back, with flawless brilliant colors, and very light corner wear (predominately the upper right). Spectacular Ex-Mt condition. Encapsulated Authentic by SGC (SGC does not assign numerical grades to proof cards). Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). |
