Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC. Magnificent high-grade example of what is universally recognized as one of Cobb's most striking cards! The Red Background pose has long been considered one of the great classics of the T206 set, and of all vintage cards. The offered example is stunning. It has a particularly striking portrait, and brilliant colors with a strong red background. Extremely crisp and clean, both front and back (two insignificant marks on reverse), centered very slightly toward the top border (approximately 40/60), with four square corners displaying just the slightest hint of wear. Sweet Caporal advertising on reverse. An extremely attractive high-grade example of one of the key cards from the premier tobacco issue of the 1910 era. This T206 Cobb Red Background portrait would be a significant highlight in any world-class T206, Hall of Famer, or Ty Cobb card collection. The equivalent SMR value is $2,750. Reserve $1,000.
