Graded NM 7 by PSA. Outstanding high-grade factory-set-fresh 1915 Cracker Jack card featuring Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson. This is an exceptional high-grade gem! While Cracker Jacks were issued one card per box, in 1915 the entire set of 176 cards could also be ordered by mail in exchange for 100 coupons, or 1 coupon plus 25 cents. This card no doubt originates from a very well preserved factory set. Cracker Jacks are universally regarded as one of the most classic and highly regarded baseball-card sets ever produced, and Walter Johnson is certainly one of the key Hall of Famers of the set. This is a stunning example, with perfect registration, no stains, four sharp corners, and centered to the right (which appears to be all that keeps this gem from grading PSA NM-MT 8) with a very slight natural tilt to the image. The reverse of the card is perfectly bright and clean, with crisp, bold black text. It is rare to find any Cracker Jack card in such high grade, let alone an example of legendary Hall of Famer Walter Johnson. Extremely attractive high-grade example of one of card collecting's undisputed classics. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $6,500. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000+. |
