Graded EX 5 by PSA. Extremely attractive, simply outstanding Excellent example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. This is a gorgeous card! One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This is a magnificent example with brilliant colors. The blue background has only the lightest hint of surface wear, and the strong square corners have just the slightest natural wear (a little more in the upper left). No creases! Bright and fresh! Centered 45/55 left to right (with a very subtle tilt to the image, which is a common fault with this card) and 65/35 top and bottom. This card barely falls short of Ex-Mt, due to just a hint too much corner wear, but is a tremendous and also very well centered example, with extremely strong visual appeal in all respects. It is rare to find such an impressive yet still relatively affordable 1952 Topps #311 Mantle rookie. This is an exceptionally attractive example of Mickey Mantle's most celebrated card in an extremely desirable grade. SMR value is $15,500. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+. |
