Pristine team pin of the 1897 Brooklyn BB Club features portraits of the entire Brooklyn baseball team. The team pins are a very distinctive subset of the larger Cameo Pepsin Gum pin set, and are extremely rare. There are only five different teams known in the set. This particular pin was just recently discovered by a family of non collectors who found it while going through their grandmother's possessions (it was one of nine Cameo Pepsin gum pins found, all of which are offered in the internet-only portion of this auction). Outstanding contrast! The original back paper displays light wear and is completely intact. Manufactured by Whitehead & Hoag. Near Mint condition. Diameter: 1.25 inches. Reserve $300.
