Presented is a very attractive collection of five 1908-1910 E91 American Caramel Company cards featuring two Hall of Famers, each professionally graded by PSA. The E91 set is sometimes referred to as the "fake design" set because the company used generic illustrations, rather than actual likenesses, of ballplayers. Thus, the exact same drawing (with team change on the uniform) was used for two or three different players. Three series (A, B, and C) were issued for the E91 set. This collection features examples from two of the three series (A and C). 1) E91A Mordecai Brown (HOF, GOOD 2). 2) E91A John McGraw (HOF, PSA EX 5). 3) E91A Daniel Murphy (PSA NM 7). 4) E91C Clyde Milan (EX+ 5.5). 5) E91C Jake Stahl (NM 7). This is an impressive high-grade collection of five cards from this interesting 1910-era caramel-card set. Total: 5 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
