Contract, dated December 30, 1968, between Muhammad Ali and Nolan Brown Motors, Inc., of Miami, Florida, for the purchase of a brand new 1968 Cadillac limousine. Signed twice by “Muhammad Ali” in blue ink (each grading “9/10”) and twice by a representative of the seller. Ali was still in boxing exile at the time of this purchase for his refusal to be inducted into the army. Despite his inactivity, Ali was obviously still traveling in style, as evidenced by the purchase price of $8,765 (equivalent to approximately $63,500 in today’s economy), which was paid with a down payment of $5,000 and the rest in 36 equal monthly installments of $134.55. The contract (8.5 x 14.25 inches) displays four horizontal folds and a few light creases. In Excellent condition overall. Pre-certified by Steve Grad and Brian Sobrero/Beckett Authentication Services. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
