Graded VG 40 by SGC. Hall of Famer Dan Brouthers from this very popular and colorful set of fifty, which includes just eight baseball players, issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen. This extremely striking example features a portrait of Brouthers, one of the 19th century's most legendary stars. Brouthers was a five-time batting champion who also led the NL in slugging percentage each of his first six full seasons. Bright and clean, both front and back, with four square corners (a tiny chip of paper loss on the lower right corner), vibrant colors, and flawless registration. The card has a natural diamond cut, which is most pronounced along the top border. The reverse of the card has paper loss on the lower left corner and along the bottom edge. N162s are universally recognized as one of pre-1900 card collecting's most highly regarded sets. This is a classic 19th-century baseball card of one of the era's greatest stars. Reserve $300.
