Presented is an attractive sample card from the 1908 American League Publishing Company Postcard series featuring legendary Hall of Famer Honus Wagner. Only three examples of Wagner have ever been graded by PSA and SGC combined. Wagner is pictured in a familiar batting pose on the front of the postcard, with a small portrait in an oval alongside and biographical information at the bottom. It is fascinating to note that the portrait used on this extraordinary card is the very same as that which appears on the most famous card in the hobby, the T206 Honus Wagner, as well as on a number of other Wagner cards, including 1902 W600 Sporting Life Cabinet, 1910 E103 Williams Caramel, and 1910-1911 M116 Sporting Life. This is obviously an iconic and very popular pose! Graded GOOD 2 by PSA (submitted by REA) due to a stain on the left edge, the card maintains a superb overall visual appeal. A crisp image, even corner wear, a crease along the bottom, and no writing on the traditional postcard reverse. This is the first American League Publishing of Wagner that we have ever offered. As can easily be seen, this is a truly magnificent card. It is an extraordinary example of one of the key Hall of Famers from this rare set, and one that would make an outstanding addition to any advanced postcard, Hall of Fame type-card collection, or Honus Wagner player collection.
