Graded GOOD+ 35 by SGC. A very attractive example of Hall of Famer Fred Clarke from the extremely rare E104-2 Nadja Caramels series features a classic portrait image. E104-2 Nadja Caramels are among the rarest of all twentieth-century caramel issues. Produced to commemorate the Pirates’ 1909 Championship season, the 11-card set features exclusively Pittsburgh Pirates. The card is bright and crisp, with a deep red background and flawless image. The card has no major creases, light corner wear, a few spots of surface wear, and chips of paper loss along with stains on the lower left border. The blank back has some light spots of toning. The E104-2 Nadja Caramels set is very closely related to the E90-2 American Caramel Pirates set. The front of Clarke is identical in both sets but has a blank back in the E104-2 Nadja set. This is an extremely striking card and a very attractive example of one of the rarest of all Fred Clarke cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
