This fascinating (and we think exciting) original "old time" collection of thirty-eight T206 White Border cards, highlighted by five Hall of Famers including Walter Johnson (portrait). The youngster who collected these cards back in 1910, unfortunately, had no idea that these cards would someday have great monetary value. Almost every card in this collection has been trimmed on all four sides (missing the top and side borders) and twenty-seven of the cards in this group have a purple ink ink stamp (letter "C" or "P C") on the reverse. The young collector who saved these long ago obviously preferred his cards neatly trimmed in this manner, and it is easy to see that they do, indeed, have an extremely striking appearance in this form. The fact that the cards have been trimmed, however, presents a remarkable modern-day collecting opportunity. Mostly Piedmont and Sweet Caporal backs but also includes three El Principe De Gales, one Sovereign, and two Polar Bear. The collection is composed of the following: Alperman, Ball (New York), Ball (Cleveland), Bates, Bender (HOF, no trees, Polar Bear), Brown (HOF, Chicago on shirt, Polar Bear), Burch (fielding), Campbell, Cravath, Davis (HOF, Chicago), Davis (Philadelphia, H. Davis on front), Delehanty (Washington), Dooin, Doolin (Doolan), Dubuc (El Principe De Gales), Dygert, Gasper, Hannifan, Hummel, Johnson (HOF, portrait), Livingston, McElveen, McQuillan (ball in hand), McQuillan (bat, Sovereign), Meyers, Meyers(batting), Rhoads (hands at chest), Schaefer (Detroit, El Principe De Gales), Schlei (portrait), Scott (El Principe De Gales), Snodgrass (batting), Snodgrass (catching), Steinfeldt (portrait), Street (portrait), Tannehill (Chicago, Tannehill on front), Tinker (HOF, hands on knees), Titus, and Unglaub.
