Graded VG/EX 4 by SGC. Magnificent example of William Coughlin (Washington) from the W600 Sporting Life cabinet-card set. W600s are one of the rarest sets from the early part of the century, and are one of the most substantial and well-made card sets ever produced. With good reason, they have always been highly prized by serious collectors. Bright, crisp, and clean, front and back, with square corners showing light wear, a flawless surface, and bold image. The reverse is perfectly clean with a few light traces of soiling (not distracting at all and mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy). This is a very striking high-grade example from one of the most important of all twentieth-century sets, which would be a significant addition to any serious sample or prewar-card collection.
