N300 Mayo's Cut Plug of Hall of Famer Cap Anson. This is a particularly significant nineteenth-century card as Mayo is one of the very few sets featuring Cap Anson from his playing days. Though he was the premier player of his day, for some reason Anson is represented by only two poses in the N172 Old Judge series (and one of those, of course, is the incredibly rare "Anson in uniform" pose, of which there are only several known examples). Graded POOR 10 by SGC, the obvious condition flaws include a heavy crease across the center and scattered black marks on the front. This is a relatively affordable low-grade example of one of Cap Anson's most desirable cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
