Presented is a very attractive collection of seven 1910 E91 American Caramel Company cards featuring exclusively members of the Boston Red Sox, each professionally graded by PSA (4) or SGC (3). The E91 set is sometimes referred to as the "fake design" set because the company used generic illustrations, rather than actual likenesses, of ballplayers. Thus, the exact same drawing (with team change on the uniform) was used for two or three different players. Three series (A, B, and C) were issued for the E91 set. This collection features examples from one of the three series (C). The collection consists of the following: Chech (SGC VG/EX 4), two Hooper (EX-MT 6 and SGC EX 60), two Karger (VG+ 3.5 and SGC VG 3), McConnell (NM-MT 8), and Stahl (VG-EX 4). This is an impressive mid- to high-grade collection of seven cards from this interesting 1910-era caramel-card set. Total: 7 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
