Pair of stereograph cards, each picturing a nineteenth-century baseball image. A stereograph card (standard size is approximately 7 x 3.25 inches) features two identical photos mounted side-by-side that, when viewed through a stereoscope, merge and appear to present a single three-dimensional image. The first card pictures a game in progress in a pastoral setting. A number of buildings can be seen in the background. A credit stamp from "G. E. Stevens/Photographer/Claremont, N. H." appears on reverse, along with a vintage handwritten notation. Gd-Vg, with light staining. The second card pictures a group of players and spectators milling together on a campus setting. The text along the base of the card reads "Gymnasium Building, East Hampton." While it appears that some of the men are holding bats, it is possible that they could be holding cricket bats. Ex-Mt. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
