Graded GOOD+ 2.5 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is one of only five examples graded (at any level) by SGC, and this marks the first example of Mike Finn from this rare set that we have ever offered in any condition! Extremely rare card of Mike Finn from the N321 S. F. Hess California League series. This newly discovered card is part of an exciting, fresh-to-the-hobby collection consigned to this auction by the family of a Midwestern collector who built his impressive collection over a period of many decades, beginning as a young boy in the 1930s. Featuring full-color illustrations on front, the forty-card N321 series depicts players from the California League and is one of the few color issues of the nineteenth century. The player name and position are printed along the top border, with California League arced over the player image and advertising for S. F. Hess & Co.'s. Creole Cigarettes along the bottom border. The offered card is clean and crisp, with even wear at the corners, a small crease in from the left edge (more noticeable on back), centering to the right, and brilliant colors. The the blank reverse is clean. This is a technically modest-in-grade but still extremely attractive example of one of nineteenth-century baseball-card collecting's most elusive sample cards.
