Pair of Philadelphia Athletics team postcards dating, respectively, from 1905 and 1910. 1) 1905 American League Champion Philadelphia Athletics. Nineteen team members are pictured in a classic team pose, all of whom are identified in print along the base, including Waddell, Bender, Plank, Murphy, Davis, Cross, Lord, and Hartsel. Addressed and mailed; postmarked "Oct 12 1905." (October 12, 1905, was the date of Game 3 of the World Series at Philadelphia.) 5.5 x 3.5 inches. Encapsulated and graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC. It should be noted that the grade is predicated mainly upon the postcard having been addressed and mailed; It has an Excellent overall appearance. 2) 1910 World Champion Philadelphia Athletics. Composite photo features 23 team members, all of whom are identified in print along the base, including Mack (Mgr.), Collins, Bender, Plank, Baker, McInnis, Hartsel (spelled "Hartzall") Coombs, Lord, Barry, and Murphy. Addressed and mailed; postmarked "Oct 20 1910." (October 20, 1910, was the date of Game 3 of the World Series at Chicago.) The person who sent the postcard attended Game 3 and makes note of Philadelphia's 12-6 win that day. 5.5 x 3.5 inches. Encapsulated and graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC.
