Graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC (submitted by REA). Modestly graded example of Ginger Beaumont of the Boston Braves from the classic T206 White Border series featuring a desirable Brown Hindu advertising reverse. This card is part of an exciting, fresh-to-the-hobby collection consigned to this auction by the family of a Midwestern collector who built his impressive collection over a period of many decades, beginning as a young boy in the 1930s. Brown Hindu is certainly not in the same league as Drum or Uzit, but it is seen far less often than the standard Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising back. The offered card is of all the more special note, however, as it appears with an orange background instead of the characteristic deep red. This is a noted phenomenon with this card, and collectors today greatly appreciate all interesting T206 color variations and printing oddities. The card presents with a crisp image, perfect registration, outstanding centering, and rounded corners. The Hindu advertisement is boldly printed in brown ink, with a stamp hinge glued near the top. This is a presentable example featuring a scarce T206 advertising back, which is ranked as the fourteenth most difficult (out of thirty-nine) within the set by T206Resource.com, and is additionally noteworthy for its interesting color variation.
