Graded VG 3 by SGC (submitted by REA). Extremely attractive mid-grade example of one of collecting's most classic cards. The T206 Walter Johnson portrait is one of the most famous of all vintage baseball cards. This card is widely recognized to be among Walter Johnson's most striking cards. In fact, the majestic portrait of Johnson on this card is considered by many advanced collectors to be the single best image of Walter Johnson to appear on any baseball card. The offered example is crisp and clean, with flawless registration, a bright yellow background, light wear on the corners (corner bend on the upper left), and near-perfect centering. A crease extends across Johnson's chest. The Piedmont 150 advertising on the back is boldly printed and well centered. This is an exceptional card in an extremely desirable grade, and would be a worthy addition to any T206, Walter Johnson, or classic Hall of Fame card collection. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
