Modestly graded example of Babe Ruth from the W551 strip-card series. Originally issued in strips, these cards (and almost all strip-cards) are often found with irregularly cut borders as they were cut by hand from the strips, as intended. Only ideally cut examples (which are few and far between) are awarded numerical grades by SGC (and PSA). Graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC, the card displays a crisp image, bold colors, and centering toward the top right. The corners are evenly rounded, and several light creases are present throughout the card. The blank reverse is lightly toned. This is a very presentable (numerically graded!) lower-grade example of one of Babe Ruth's most classic 1920s strip-cards and one that would be a significant addition to any Babe Ruth, strip-card, or prewar-card collection.
