Graded GOOD+ 2.5 by SGC (submitted by REA). Presented is an extremely attractive example of Babe Ruth from the W575-1 strip-card series. The W575-1 set is very similar in nature to the American Caramel Company E121 issue as both sets feature the same design and likenesses for many of the players included. One of several different cards of Ruth in the W575-1 set, this is one of the all-time classic Babe Ruth cards of the 1920s. Referred to on checklists as the Babe Ruth "R. F." variation, this popular card features Ruth in a throwing pose. Centering slightly to the right and even corner wear, with a few surface scrapes accounting for the assigned grade. The blank reverse has a black mark. Within the card-collecting world, this is a famous and extremely desirable pose of Ruth that appears in several other sets, including the 1917 E135 Collins-McCarthy. This is a tremendous opportunity to acquire an extremely strong and impressive technically mid-grade example of this 1920s strip card, sharing the exact image with other notable and extremely desirable Ruth cards of the era. Reserve $2,500. Estimate (open).
