Attractive Detroit Tigers real-photo team postcard featuring Ty Cobb in his rookie season. The manufacturer’s name is printed on the reverse, “H. M. Taylor Publisher, Detroit.” 1907 was a great year for the Tigers franchise as it marked the first of three consecutive American League pennants (though the team lost the World Series each year) as well as the start of Ty Cobb's Hall of Fame career with the club. The postcard offers outstanding photo clarity and contrast. The image features the very young Cobb in the center. Also included in the photo are fellow Hall of Famers Hughie Jennings and Sam Crawford. Downgraded to POOR 10 by SGC (submitted by REA) due to writing on the front, as well as a penned address, stamp, and postmark on the reverse. This is a very presentable low-grade example of this early Detroit Tigers postcard dating from Ty Cobb's rookie season. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
