Addendum (11/21; 2:00 PM): Please note that the dating on this card has been updated to reflect additional research provided to REA that more accurately dates the Novelty Cutlery set to 1910.

Presented is a pair of Hall of Famers from the rare and highly regarded PC805 postcard set issued by the Novelty Cutlery Co. of Canton, Ohio, in 1910. The PC805 series is universally recognized as one of the most desirable of all baseball postcard issues. These cards have always been appreciated by collectors both for their extreme rarity and distinctive style. These cards are part of a fresh-to-the-hobby collection of nine Novelty Cutlery postcards consigned to this auction by the family of the original owner (whose name happens to be written on the back of both the cards). Each card has been professionally graded and encapsulated FAIR 1.5 by SGC (submitted by REA) due to the aforementioned pencil writing on the reverses. The lot consists of the following: Mordecai Brown and Frank Chance. Both postcards present with a Vg to Vg-Ex appearance from the front. This is an extremely striking pair of rare Novelty Cutlery Postcards that would be a significant addition to any advanced prewar-card collection. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
