Pair of 1909-1912 PX7 Sweet Caporal Domino Discs representing both poses of Hall of Famer Nap Lajoie from this fascinating set. The two Lajoie poses presented here are the "large-size" (green) and "small-size" (red) portrait. Each disc is graded and encapsulated EX-MT 6 by PSA. The PX7 Sweet Caporal Domino Discs set is one of the most interesting, substantial, and overlooked of all baseball tobacco inserts. This classic 1910-era issue includes almost all of the great stars and Hall of Famers of the era, and Nap Lajoie is undoubtedly one of the keys to the set. These two examples each exhibit crisp images, bright colors, and very wear visible along the edges. Domino Discs are substantially rarer than card issues such as T205 and T206 (or even P2 pins) that were issued with tobacco in the same era. Because cards naturally get most of the attention among tobacco inserts, in our opinion Domino Discs represent one of the best values of all 1910-era baseball tobacco issues. This is a very attractive pair of a key Hall of Famer from the rare and unusual PX7 Sweet Caporal Domino Discs set. Total: 2 discs. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
