Foldover scorecard issued for a game between the New York Giants and Brooklyn Superbas held at the Polo Grounds during the 1900 season. The colorful covers, which are identical in design, picture a generic game-in-progress scene along with advertising for "Sen Sen Gum." The year, "1900," is printed in the upper left corner. The preprinted lineups include Van Haltren, Davis, Doyle, Gleason, and Frisbee for New York, and Keeler, Jennings, Jones, Daly, and Sheckard for Brooklyn. Neatly scored in pencil to record an 11-8 New York win. Research failed to find a game by that score listed for the 1900 season. However, New York defeated Brooklyn 12-8 on April 20th, which was the second game of the year. A notation on the scoresheet indicates that the game was called in the bottom of the eighth inning, so perhaps the final run for the Giants in that frame was not recored here. The scorecard (7 x 10 inches) displays a heavy vertical fold, light creasing, and a few small edge tears. In Good condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
