Graded GOOD 2 by SGC (submitted by REA). Extremely attractive example of Cap Anson from the colorful 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions set. Anson is the key card from this very popular fifty-card set issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen Cigarettes. This example is bright and crisp, with flawless colors and perfect registration. The corners display light touches of wear, and the card is extremely well centered. Downgraded from Ex due to a light crease in Anson's uniform area (his left arm) and three tiny specks of paper residue on his face. The checklist reverse is lightly toned with bold black print and a small area of paper loss at the lower right. This card presents a great opportunity to acquire an extremely attractive example of one of the most classic of all nineteenth-century baseball cards. This outstanding card originates from the collection of legendary pioneer collector Paul Pollard. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+.
