Graded GOOD 2 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is a very attractive modestly graded example of one of Ruth's truly great early 1920s cards. 1921 was the very first year the legendary Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago issued cards. It would go on to issue sets for the next fifty years. These cards were sold by Exhibit card machines at amusement parks and penny arcades, one penny per card. This is the key card from the set and one of Ruth's earliest cards featuring him with the Yankees. The card displays even corner wear, outstanding picture quality, and an ink stamp on the lower portion of the blank reverse. An extremely attractive modestly graded example of what is universally recognized by collectors as one of Ruth’s most classic cards. Reserve $500.
