This extraordinary autograph album, which was compiled by former player Birdie Tebbetts in the 1930s through the 1950s, features the signatures of 48 former Major League stars, including Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, Tris Speaker, Roger Bresnahan, George Sisler, Hank Greenberg, and 12 other Hall of Famers. The interior front cover has the inscription "I got these at banquets and games and Fame meetings over the years - Birdie 2/91." All of the signatures in the album are scripted in blue or black inks and appear on a total of twenty-nine pages. One page has autographs on each side, the remainder have signatures on one side only. The 18 Hall of Fame players represented here are Ruth (grading "8"), Wagner, Speaker, Bresnahan, Sisler, Greenberg, Hubbell, Frisch, Dickey, Vaughan, Lombardi, Medwick, B. Herman, Durocher, P. Waner, Slaughter, MacPhail, and Gordon. The 30 non Hall of Fame players are Ernie Bonham, two Johnny Beazley, Frank Crosetti, Hank Gowdy, Sid Hudson, Harry Eisenstat, Bill Hitchcock, Tommy Hughes, Fred Caligiuri, Gus Marcuso, Dick Bartell, Bill Jurges, Dixie Walker, Augie Galan, Van Mungo, Ken Chase, Ace Adams, Curt Davis, Mickey Witek, Mickey Owen, Ed Heal, Charlie Keller, Duffy Lewis, Spud Chandler, Jim Turner, Rollie Hemsley, and Nick Etten. The signatures are all fairly uniform in grade, averaging "8/9." The album (6.25 x 4.75 inches) displays moderate wear, with the cover slightly separated from the spine. In Good condition overall.
